Abstract
This study investigates conflicts between the elderly and care workers in long-term care. Applying a qualitative research method, 17 people who are 9 care workers and 8 elderly home care service users were interviewed. The collected data were analyzed according to the directed content analysis method among the qualitative content methods. The definition and types of relationship conflicts and task-focused conflicts were applied from the study of Jehn(1995, 1997, 2003). The result of the study suggests that it is necessary to increase the management responsibility of home care service agencies and social workers as a way to reduce conflicts between elderly users and care workers and to improve quality of care.
